Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the leaderboard:

• Project name, URL, category, and description — the content you submit with your bid.
• Bid amount and timestamp — the public record of the auction.
• Click counts — how many times your entry's outbound link was clicked.
• Payment metadata from Dodo Payments — transaction ID, status, and amount. We do not see or store your card details.

What we do NOT collect

• Your name, email, or any account information.
• Your IP address (beyond what your browser sends to load the page, which is not logged by us).
• Any cookies for tracking across other sites.
• Your device fingerprint or any persistent identifiers.

Where data lives

Leaderboard entries (project name, URL, category, bid amount, click count) are stored in a shared database and are the same for every visitor. Your device also keeps a small local copy of your theme preference in localStorage — that part never leaves your browser.

How data is shared

We don't sell or share bidder data. Outbound clicks on your entry are tagged with ?ref=bidflip_lol so the destination site can attribute the click in their analytics. This is for transparency, not revenue share.

Cookies

We use one cookie-like item: your theme preference (light or dark mode), stored in localStorage. That's it. No third-party cookies, no advertising cookies.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics (or similar privacy-respecting analytics) for aggregate, anonymous traffic counts. No personal data, no cross-site tracking.

Your rights

Clearing your browser's localStorage resets your local theme preference, but does not remove your listing from the shared leaderboard — that's a public, cumulative record of bids, by design. To request removal of an entry, email support@bidflip.lol.

Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced via the @bidflip_lol X account.
